About
Founded in 2023, Compagnie Tous les jours de la vie, directed by Julien Lewkowicz, an actor and director who trained at the École supérieure of the Théâtre National de Bretagne, starts from the following premise: “It would be most interesting to write a history of what humanity has lost, when what it has lost has left its trace.” Malraux (Anti-Memoirs, 1967)
The company envisions a “memory” theatre that seeks to reveal neglected stories, forgotten figures and works lost through indifference, but whose relevance and rightness can still resonate today.
Our research is driven by a taste for investigation. Our work draws its sources at the crossroads of theatre and the humanities, as it seeks to borrow and shift historical and sociological material (archives, testimonies, broadcasts, interviews) before adapting it and transforming it into contemporary stories and writing, carried by the performers on stage.
The company therefore believes that theatre is a porous border between worlds and an art of encounter (between fiction and reality, the known and the unknown, past and present), and wishes to place this belief at the start of each of its creations.
