Sarah Calcine

Associate actor

Sarah Calcine works as both an actor and a theatre director. She trained as an actor at the CNR in Montpellier and in Argentina, and holds a degree in directing from La Manufacture in Lausanne.

In film, she has worked with Charlotte Le Bon (Talents Cannes Adami), Léa Fazer, Frédéric Bélier Garcia and Zoel Aeschbacher, among others. On stage, she has performed in productions directed by Chloé Dabert, Matthieu Cruciani, Julie Guichard and Julien Lewkowicz.

In 2022–23, she was a member of the young ensemble at the CDN in Reims, where she also directed a touring production of FACES ou l’Incroyable matin by Nicolas Doutey.

Her first production, Mi Muñequita by Gabriel Calderón, won the Jury Prize at the Nanterre-sur-Scène Festival. She subsequently explored site-specific performance at the Villeréal Festival, notably with Innocence by Dea Loher, which was later revived at Mains d’Œuvres (FORTE IDF grant, 2018).

With her Lausanne-based company Boule à Facettes, she co-created and performed in On achève bien les oiseaux, which premiered at “C’est Déjà demain” and was presented again at Vidy Lausanne in 2022. Her production of Privés de feuilles les arbres ne bruissent pas by Magne Van den Berg, commissioned by Le Poche GVE, was presented at the La Bâtie Festival in 2023. Her company’s latest production, FALTA LADY, premiered at L’Oriental in Vevey and at Maison Saint-Gervais in 2024.

Passionate about artistic research, she took part in a working group led by Sergio Blanco at INAE (Uruguay) in 2014, focusing on autofiction. In 2026, she was awarded a grant from the LeLabō Foundation in Lausanne. Since 2018, she has been developing a practice-based research project combining theatre and social geography with La Manufacture, alongside geographer Florian Opillard. Their latest investigation, Dreaming Amid the Climate Emergency (Rêver sous l’urgence climatique), will give rise to performances at Théâtre du Loup and Comédie de Caen in 2027.

Alongside her artistic practice, she leads workshops for the Classe de la Comédie de Reims and at La Manufacture. In 2025, she also assisted Gabriel Calderón on the school’s graduation production based on Roberto Zucco. She is a regular artistic collaborator on productions by Amélie Vidon and Alenka Chenuz.

Her latest work is a solo performance adapted from Louise Chennevière’s novel POUR BRITNEY, premiering in February 2027 at L’Usine à Gaz in Nyon and Studio Théâtre de Vitry.
